Privacy Policy
Last updated 17 October 2026
This policy explains what information NamkhaZoe collects, why, and what you can do about it. NamkhaZoe is offered by Dundul Raptenling monastery ("we", "us"). It covers namkhazoe.com, app.namkhazoe.com and the NamkhaZoe apps.
In short
- You can browse NamkhaZoe without giving us any personal information.
- If you create an account, we keep your name, email address and which books you open, so we can give you access and stop bulk downloading.
- We do not show advertising, we do not sell or rent your information, and we do not track you across other websites.
1. Without an account
When you browse NamkhaZoe without signing in, we do not ask for your name or email. Like every website, our servers receive technical information with each request: your IP address, the type of browser or device, and the time and address of the request. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, uses this to deliver the service and to protect it from attacks and automated downloading. These logs are kept for a short time and are not used to identify you.
2. With an account
On the website, to open full books you sign in with Google or with Apple. The service you choose then tells us:
- your name and email address;
- an account identifier, so we recognise you next time.
With Sign in with Apple you can choose to hide your email address; we then receive a private relay address from Apple that forwards to you. We never receive your Google or Apple password, and we get no access to your email, contacts, photos, files or anything else in your account.
You can change the name shown on your account at any time. If you signed in with Google, your Google profile picture may be shown on your device, loaded from Google; we don't store it. A photo you choose for your profile stays on your device and is never sent to us.
While you use your account, we also record which books you open or download and when. We use this only to apply download limits, to detect and stop bulk or automated downloading, and to answer copyright questions about a particular work.
3. In the apps
The Android and iPhone apps have no accounts. When you first open the app, it creates a random number for that installation. When you open a full book, the app sends this number with the request, and we record it with the book and the date, the same way as for accounts, so we can apply download limits and stop automated downloading. The number is not linked to your name, email or phone, and it changes if you reinstall the app.
4. On your device
Your reading history, bookmarks, saved books and app settings (such as language and theme) are stored on your own device. They are not sent to us.
5. How we use your information
- to let you sign in and open full books;
- to protect the library from bulk downloading, misuse and attacks;
- to reply when you write to us.
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not make decisions about you by automated profiling.
6. Who else handles it
- Cloudflare hosts the website, the files and the account system.
- Google and Apple provide sign-in. Their own privacy policies apply to your Google or Apple account.
- YouTube plays the videos. When you play a video, YouTube may collect information under its own privacy policy.
We do not share your information with anyone else, unless the law requires it.
7. How long we keep it
- Your account details: until you delete your account.
- Records of the books opened (by account or app installation): 12 months, then deleted.
- Server logs: a short time, as needed for security.
8. Deleting your account and your rights
You can delete your account at any time on the website (More → Account → Delete account), or by writing to us. We then delete your account details and the records of the books you opened within 30 days. You can also ask us what information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it.
9. Children
NamkhaZoe is a library for study and practice and is not aimed at children. Accounts are for people aged 13 or over.
10. Changes
If we change this policy, we update the date at the top of this page. If a change matters for how we use your information, we will also say so in the app.
